Two students from Colaiste na Trocaire were among the prizewinners at the Africa Day celebrations which were held in City Hall Limerick on the 24th May.
In an effort to promote cultural diversity a competition was held for all students in County Limerick. Students were asked to submit a poem, short story or one act play on the theme of celebrating cultural diversity. Ciara Hayes, a second year student in Colaiste na Trocaire wrote a brilliant short story and won a kindle. Dion Picard, a first year student wrote an inspirational poem and also won a kindle. Karen Mc Hugh, CEO of Doras Luimini commended the school and the English teachers in particular who had encouraged their students to enter and for all involved for their outstanding contribution to promoting the celebration and of culture and diversity in Limerick.
