Recently the Transition Year students from Coláiste na Trócaire launched their new mini company idea, known as Crafty Cards. They are selling cards which are uniquely designed and are the perfect card to send to friends and family this Christmas. Crafty Cards are selling their six pack Christmas Cards for €3.50.
The idea began when Transition Year students decided that they would like to design their own Christmas Cards. As a result of some brainstorming they decided to run a Christmas Card competition throughout the school. The idea behind this was that each pack of cards would contain the work of a student from each year group. It was great to see so many entries and though it was difficult to choose the winning entries, decisions had to be made. The winners were Catherine Fitzgerald (T.Y), Ola Wgekzek (1st year), Maeve Power (2nd year), Sarah Fitzgerald (3rd year), Sean English (2nd year) and Shannon Bell (5th year). The group decided that Caitlin O’Sullivan’s entry (5th year) would be the logo for Crafty Cards.
Crafty Cards will go on to compete in the Student Enterprise Awards in 2014. Crafty Cards will bring more of their ideas to fruition post-Christmas.
Business Teacher Ms. Bunyan along with her students Mary Reidy, Laura Barry, Ciara Mulcaire, Catherine Fitzgerald, Loraine Power and Sarah Hannon would like to thank all the staff, students and parents of Coláiste na Trócaire who have helped us greatly in this venture. It has been very much appreciated.
