Congratulations to Jessica Lowry 5th Year who has been invited to attend Mathematics enrichment classes in the University of Limerick. This invitation comes as a result of Jessica’s performance in Mathematics in the Junior Certificate examinations earlier this year. The international Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is a prestigious annual team competition for mathematically talented second-level students representing their countries. Ireland has participated in the competition since 1988, and Irish students have won medals in eight of those competitions. These classes also help U.L to identify and train talented students, with a view to selecting a team to represent Ireland in the next IMO in July. This is a great achievement for the school and for Mr Michael McMahon her Maths teacher.
