Mock oral Irish exams for the sixth years took place on Saturday 19th January. These exams afforded students the opportunity to show their language skills and to help them get used for the real thing in April. Two external teachers kindly gave of their time to come to the school to help the students. Students were engaged in reading a piece of poetry, discussing a series of pictures and in a general conversation. The presence of external teachers enabled the students to become used to sitting down and talking as Gaeilge with somebody that they had not met before and this should help them feel less nervous when the real exam occurs.
Overall, the experience was very beneficial. Good feedback was given to the teachers on the day and this will be communicated to the students in due course.
Roinn na Gaeilge Choláiste na Trócaire wish to thank the external teachers for coming to our school. Well done to all the students who participated in the exercise for coming in on a Saturday!
