The School has been lucky enough to secure a very substantial grant as part of a pilot scheme run by the Department of Education and Skills (DES) and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). The school has undertaken to embark on an energy awareness programme in return for our inclusion on this pilot scheme.
This grant is worth just under half a million euros and should result in a more comfortable and efficient school. Work in relation to this grant must be completed during the summer months. This will result in some disruption to the school.
A letter will issue to all parents in June with information on School Fees, Book Lists, Uniform, dates for return to school etc.
Please note that from Friday 16th June the oldest part of the school will not be accessible by staff, students or parents and from Friday 23rd of June no part of the school will be accessible. The school will remain closed for longer this year as work is carried out but it is hoped to re-open the school office on Wednesday 16th August for Leaving Cert Student to collect their results– this will be confirmed in August by text to the parents.
From June 5th until the return to school, can I ask parents to contact the school if needed by email at mercycc@eircom.net or in cases of emergency only to call or text on 086 1414341.
I would like to thank you in advance for you co-operation with this work.
