The School has been lucky enough to secure a very substantial grant as part of a pilot scheme run by the Department of Education and Skills (DES) and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). The school has undertaken to embark on an energy awareness programme in return for our inclusion on this pilot scheme.
This grant is worth just under half a million euros and should result in a more comfortable and efficient school. Work in relation to this grant has been put out to tender and must be completed during the summer months. This will result in some disruption to the school. In preparation for the handover of the school to the builders all books, computers, materials etc must be pack away and stored. A date for the final completion of the work has not yet been agreed but will be finalised within the next few weeks.
A further letter will issue to all parents in June with information on School Fees, Book Lists dates for return to school etc.
Some disruption is unavoidable before the end of term, as far as possible exam students will have as little disruption as possible. Below please find details of planned events;
|Thursday 11th May||Students will finish school at 1.15 pm to allow time for a staff planning meeting. Buses will run at 1.15 as per Friday timetable|

Please note that from Friday 16th June the oldest part of the school will not be accessible by staff students or parents and from Friday 23rd of June no part of the school will be accessible. The school will remain closed for longer this year as work is carried out but it is hoped to re-open the school office on Wednesday 16th August for Leaving Cert Student to collect their results– this will be confirmed in June.
Can I ask parents to contact the school if needed by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or in cases of emergency only to call or text on 086 1414341.
I would like to thank you in advance for you co-operation with this work.
